Summer Camps

NEW! Summer Songwriting Circle With Zoe Benson

Ages: 13-18
Price: $175

Course Information

Explore different approaches to songwriting in a supportive and collaborative writer’s circle. Over the course of two weeks, we will try free writing, co-writing, and writing from many different song seeds and starting points. Bring a notebook, pencil, recording device or phone, and instrument you would like to put in your music! Piano will be provided.

Everyone is welcome! Whether you have written dozens of songs or never finished one, you will find tools to take your creativity to the next level. We will work together to sculpt a supportive and collaborative environment with the culmination of a coffee house show at the end of the two week session. Students who wish to perform at the coffee house will be encouraged to share their work, but that is NOT a requirement.

NEW! Alexander Technique Workshop
with MOLLY KITTLE and DARCI LOBDELL

Session I: 10 to Adult (This workshop is great for families)
Session II: 18 to Adult
Price: $35

Course Information

This workshop will include fun games, interactive learning, and useful tools for young singers and musicians. Great for anyone young person who wants to perform, practice, and play their musical instruments with more ease, consistency, and longevity.

WHAT IS ALEXANDER WORK?
Alexander Technique is a practical hands-on study of the principles of coordination, movement, habit, and awareness, furthering the work of FM Alexander. Through light touch and basic anatomical information, this technique helps you to access innate coordination, achieving ease, grace, comfort, strength, and flexibility in your profession or craft, such as instrument playing and performing, as well as in the activities of everyday life. Alexander Technique also works with performance anxiety, injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain. Teachers of the Alexander work help you notice how and when you are working harder then you need, to realize your habitual movement patterns, and learn to make changes on your own.

WHO STUDIES ALEXANDER WORK?
Anyone who desires excellence, ease, grace, and joy in every activity of life. Anyone who wants to use him or herself in more efficient and natural ways without the restrictions of habitual movement patterns which cause tension, pain, fatigue, and limit one’s abilities. Teachers work with musicians, singers, gardeners, elderly people, artists, desk-job workers, sportspersons like horseback riders, ice skaters, dancers, and many others.

MOLLY KITTLE
As a teacher, singer, and artist, Molly’s mission is to empower her students and clients with tools to find ease, depth, and freedom in any life activity. During her undergraduate and postgraduate studies where she majored in Vocal Performance, Molly encountered the Alexander work. Not only was she inspired by the vocal and expressive freedom she found as a result of studying the technique, she also discovered her passion for working with and helping musicians.

Molly is currently a Contemporary Alexander Alliance Teacher and teaches private lessons at Floorspace Studio in Boulder, CO. Incredibly passionate about movement education and consciousness, Molly strives to connect people to their own greater potential and unique expression.
