Audition Requirements

This year, the show will be cast ahead of music distribution.

Please save the date:
Live Audition Day at Dana V. Music will be June 18, 2015 at 4:00-8:30pm.

On this day, students will be scheduled for live auditions and will be asked to present:

1) Up to 2 minutes of an MT (musical theatre) piece of your choice. We would prefer that this year your piece be from a musical that won a Tony award. You are asked to have an intro and chorus of the song to give an idea of the piece. It should be a piece that you feel shows your vocal ability, but also make sure it is a song that you feel comfortable singing and that you know well. Please don’t stress!

If you are not sure and would like to run some song titles by me or you need suggestions, please feel free to email with questions: (danav@danavmusic.com).

Email Dana Vachharajani

2) A monologue or excerpt of your choice. Under a minute long, please.

This should CONTRAST the mood and character of your song piece. The monologue does not have to be from a play. There are many monologues that you can download online or find in compilation books.

We have many samples in the studio if you would like to read and choose some ahead of time.

Please notify office if you are unable to attend the Live Audition Day.
