Ms. Wendel is a pianist, recorder player, and an educator. She received a piano performance scholarship, and has a Master of Music Education Degree from the University of Colorado with emphasis on piano and clarinet. She taught public school music for several years in Jefferson County Schools in Colorado, and also substitute taught in Boulder Valley School District in Boulder, CO. Presently, Marilyn is a piano and recorder teacher, and is a member of 2 piano clubs based in the Denver-Boulder area which are, the Keyboard Klatch and the Taussig-Hanson Piano Club. These are groups of piano teachers and performers that meet monthly to perform solos and duets. Ms. Wendel has extensive experience as a pianist accompanying vocal and instrumental soloists and groups, and has for the past three years been the piano accompanist for the Flatiron Youth Chorale in Boulder, CO. As a recorder player Ms. Wendel plays SATB recorders and is a member of The Quantz Ensemble that performed at the 2006 Early Music Colorado Fall Festival in Denver. Marilyn performed JS Bach's English Suite #2 on harpsichord for the EMC Fall Festival at the Boulder Public Library in 2007. Ms. Wendel has performed recorder solo sonatas of J.S. Bach, Handel and Vivaldi of the Baroque era for the American Recorder Society concerts in Boulder, CO from 2003-2006, and she presents J.S. Bach programs for the Boulder chapter of the American Recorder Society.
