Dana Vachharajani (formerly, Dana C. Bhatnagar) is a wonderful music teacher who just happens to be a professional
singer. Dana has music degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and The Julliard School. As part of her performing
career she has sung in Carnegie Hall, and has toured in Austria. Dana applies these experiences to her first love,
teaching. Dana has taught in the Pittsburgh Public School system and was the K-6 music teacher at Lincoln
Elementary School in Mount Vernon, NY. In Mt. Vernon, she taught music to over 720 inner-city students per week.
Her classroom and principal, George C. Albano, were featured on the Jim Lehrer News Hour's Merrow Report in the piece
entitled "The Achievement Gap." She has conducted numerous youth choirs, some with as many as 150 children. Dana also
taught elementary and middle school music and choir at Boulder Country Day school in Boulder, Colorado for two years.
She is currently the director of The Flatiron Youth Chorale. Throughout
her career Dana has taught private voice lessons and continues to do so with Dana Vachharajani Music, LLC. Her
philosophy is to make learning music a memorable, positive, and fun experience.
