Bette Weems Weir received a B.M. with Piano Emphasis and B.A. in Education from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, a Masters in Music Education in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a M.S. in Educational Administration from Jackson State University. She is a native of Jackson, Mississippi where she maintained a private piano studio from 1979 until 1999. She taught choral music on the secondary level for 15 years before moving to Colorado in 1999 to take the choral position at Bear Creek High School in Jefferson County where she taught for 3 years. She was the first high school choral music director in the Brighton School Disctrict 27J beginning in 2003, teaching at Brighton High School and opening Prairie View High School, where she is currently employed. She obtained funding and set up the class piano labs and both high schools in the Brighton School District. She currently directs five choirs and one piano class at PVHS.
Mrs. Weir resides in the LoDo section of Denver with her husband, Harry and three west highland terriers. Her son, Hap is a senior at the University of Denver.
