No Running In Hallways

It has come to our attention that there have been a high volume of unsupervised children and teens in the building during the later evening hours (after 7 pm). There have been many incidents of excessive noise, running, and screaming in the basement hallways during this time. Please understand that private lessons and classes occur until 9 pm on weekdays, and this hallway noise is very disruptive to the students and teachers who are in classes. We would appreciate it if all parents would remind their children to behave appropriately, so we can keep the building comfortable and safe at all hours of the day and night. Thank you!

Student News

Mary Grace Carroll was one of only twenty-five 8th-12th grade students to be accepted to Perry Mansfield’s Young Artist Musical Theatre Intensive for Summer 2013. Way to go, Mary Grace! We are so proud of you and know you will have a great time at this program.

Congratulations to Lindsey Ashby on winning a blue ribbon in the ACSI Solo Music Festival for voice! Great job!

On March 6th, the Ryan Elementary and Angevine Middle School students who receive generous scholarships from Impact on Education to study music at DVM performed three wonderful pieces for an audience of over 400 at the Impact Awards. Some have only been studying since late October and all the students showed wonderful poise and musicianship. Thank you to all of the teachers who have been involved in this program: Alex Vittal, Monica Smiley, Kellan Toohey, Dave Laub, and Emma Shubin.

Thank you to the Flatiron Chorales and soloists who performed at the Youth Spring Art Show at the Louisville Public Library on March 7! It was a great show and the library has already asked to have us back next year.

Teacher News

Kelly Fitzgerald, daughter of DVM piano teacher, Nancy Fitzgerald, recently won 2nd place in the CU Idol competition. Congratulations, Kelly!
