Yukiko Kimura

A native of Japan, Yukiko Kimura began her piano studies at the age of five with Tomoko Takamizawa, and later with Noriko Fujiki of the Osaka College of Music. She continued studying music with Midori Jitsuno at Osaka International Women's University in Japan where she received her degree in Music Education. In 1996, Yukiko moved to the United States to further her music study. She received a variety of music scholarships and studied with Theodor Lichtmann and Alice Rybak at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. Yukiko was awarded the 2001 Recital Distinction Award from the Lamont School of Music upon her graduation. Yukiko is a member of Music Teachers National Association as well as Broomfield Music Teachers Association. She has been teaching private piano lessons for over ten years and many of her students have been successfully participated in local piano festivals and competitions.
