Preschool Musical: Go Fish!

Preschool Musical is a great class for your little ones to explore theater through play-acting, music, and movement. Your young one will have wonderful memories of their first experience in theater through
this fantastic and fun musical.

Show Description:
“A Tuna Fish who can’t carry a tune? A Star Fish who can’t get an acting job? A seven-legged Octopus? A Zebra Fish with spots? A Tiger Shark who wants to be friends with everyone? Join in the aquatic fun as little Tiger Shark and his unique collection of friends discover how their differences make them each special.” – Hal Leonard

Pixie Keys, Level 1

This is an introduction to keyboard music for those children who are not yet ready for the structure of private lessons. As they progress, students will learn to play songs by ear, finger number, letter, and note, while exploring the many possibilities of making music on the keyboard.

Pixie Strings, Level 1

Have little fingers, will play! This fun, integrated class will provide a positive first experience for young violinists.

Requirements: Children should be able to read letters A-G and numbers 1-5. Violin rental required after first class measurement.

Pixie Strings, Level 2

Have fun continuing the journey of the concepts learned in Pixie Strings, Level 1.

Prerequisite: Completion of Pixie Strings, Level 1, or similar violin experience.

Flatiron Youth Chorale: The Kindness Tour

The Flatiron Youth Chorale is a Louisville voice chorus dedicated to sharing its music with members of the surrounding community. During rehearsals, the choir will explore music theory, vocal technique, languages, instrumental technique with handbells and drums, and social and ensemble behavior. The choir is open to students of all levels, beginner to advanced, and will perform at least two times each semester.  

FYC’s, The Kindness Tour has a huge goal this year:  To spread kindness through music.  Our conductor, Luisa Rodriguez will work with the students to learn ways to show caring while preparing and performing.  One special project either during a concert or in addition to concerts will be pursued to help the community or world. Join this chorus to unlock your kindness potential.

Group Keyboard, Level 1

This is an introduction to keyboard music for those children who are not yet ready for the structure of private lessons. As they progress, students will learn to play songs by ear, finger number, letter, and note, while exploring the many possibilities of making music on the keyboard.

Group Keyboard, Level 2

A continuation of the concepts learned in Keyboard Level 1. Students will gain more confidence in reading and writing notes, musical terms, and presentation of songs in this course.  

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Keyboard Level 1 or similar keyboard experience.

Group Keyboard/Theory, Adult Beginner

Have a child in piano lessons and want to be able to help with practice? Want to learn how to navigate a keyboard? Interested in brushing up your piano skills? This class is for adults and teens who are new to piano or those who would like to study again after time off. Also a great class for singers who would like to work on their piano skills!  This class will also incorporate the essential of music theory as it relates to piano playing.

Beginning Group Violin, Level 1

Join us for this fun introduction to string instruments! Students will learn how to properly hold and care for their instrument, as well as learn simple songs and fundamentals of music. Students will have an option to perform their pieces in recital at the end of the semester. Less than half the cost of private lessons!

Beginning Group Violin, Level 2

A continuation of the concepts learned in Beginning Group Violin, Level 1.  Advance in fingering and bowing technique, music theory, and explore more advanced repertoire for playing.

Prerequisite: Completion of Beginning Group Violin, Level 2, or similar violin experience.

Group Acoustic Guitar, Level 1

Always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but not sure if you are ready for private lessons? This is the class for you! Students will learn basic chords and guitar technique, in addition to simple songs and fundamentals of music. Group Acoustic Guitar, Adult Beginner

Are you looking for a way to decompress after work?  Have you always wanted to learn a musical instrument, but didn’t know where to start?  Come and join Miguel Espinoza in this fun, low-pressure class that is geared towards adults who want to explore playing acoustic guitar! This course will cover handling technique, care, tuning, basic chord playing, strumming, rhythm, and learning to play songs.
