Lebanese-American soprano, Christine Honein has been performing in operas, musicals, and concerts throughout the United States and the Middle East. A graduate from Florida State University, and soon to be graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, Christine has enjoyed performing a wide variety of roles ranging from the baroque to contemporary repertoire, including Maria (West Side Story), Dalinda (Ariodante), and Drusilla (L’incoronazione di Poppea).
In the Fall of 2019, Christine premiered Leanna Kirchoff’s song cycle version of Arias from Friday after Friday, an opera that addresses Syrian women’s unique experiences of living through the war crisis, and selections from Art Songs in Arabic on Poems by Said Akl, by Lebanese composer Iyad Kanaan. Upcoming performances include a concert with the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra in Beirut, in December 2019. Christine is currently completing a Master of Music at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she hold a teaching assistantship in voice and diction.
