Aline Bahamondez of San Pedro, Chile is thrilled to join Dana Vaccharajani Music, LLC. She earned her master of music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, and graduated with a bachelor of music degree from Pittsburg State University. Aline most recently sang as one of the six hens in Houston Grand Opera’s production of Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen.
For two seasons, Aline performed with The Ohio Light Opera. During that time, she sang roles in operas from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Grand Duke., Offenbach’s The Brigands., Lehár’s The Land of Smiles., and Franz Schubert’s Das Dreimäderlhaus. While at Pittsburg State University, she appeared as Laurie in Copeland’s The Tender Land. She had the opportunity to learn the role in depth through the first ever Laurie,the late Ms. Rosemary Carlos Trucco who was chosen by Copland himself. Aline has appeared with the South East Kansas Symphony in performances of Haydn’s Harmoniemesse and as the Grinch in Robert Kapilow’s Green Eggs and Ha.
Her love for teaching began at Pittsburg State University where she taught music minors as she completed her first degree. During her studies at Rice, she taught at Rice University’s Preparatory Music Program, students ranging from the ages of 11 to 35. Aline’s passion for teaching and learning has led her to many volunteering opportunities of which include, private children’s choirs, elementary school productions, outreach programs through Rice University and exploratory music experiences for young children.
